good lil tool

For cat and dog nails. Clip the tip, then smooth the edge with the built-in grinder.
Developed with a veterinarianIn a study of clients at a subsidized grooming program, nail trimming was the task owners felt least sure about, and 45% named fear of hurting their pet as a barrier. Read the study.
Bad light makes you guess. In a dim room it's hard to see where the nail ends and the quick starts.
A fresh cut leaves an edge. That rough tip snags on carpet, furniture and you.
So the trim gets skipped. Then you're paying about $10 to $30 per visit for a job that takes minutes. Typical US prices.

After
We developed this tool with the help of Dr. Ruth Mercer.
“I'd clip the tip first, then flip the tool over to smooth the edge with the built-in grinder. The LED lights up the nail while you line up the cut.”
Dr. Ruth Mercer

The quick is the living part of the nail. Cut into it and the nail bleeds and hurts, so every trim is about staying past it.
Light nails: you can see the pink. Stay well clear of it.
Dark nails: even with the LED you can't see the quick. Take tiny snips from the tip and stop early.
Cats: press the paw pad gently to extend the nail, then take about 1 to 2 mm off the tip.
Plenty of listings sell the guard as a promise. Here is what it does on a real paw.

good lil tool

It's very easy to see the claw from the side, which is how I hold the clippers
Jacob Dawson
I had to go to the parcel lockers twice because the delivery note had the wrong number. Someone in the office found it for me the next day. Anyway, I used it on our dog that evening and the cutter was good. I tried the grinder on a back nail and she pulled away, so for now I'm doing the front ones only.
Jeremiah Ross
thank you! came quick
Kaitlyn Cox
Came in 3 days. Recieved it in good shape. Husband put the old pair away after trying it on our terrier.
Jenna Carter
Super simple. I got it for my mom's dog but ended up using it on the cat too
Noah Murray
Tried it on a regular nail and the one higher up his front leg. Easy on both.
Javier Kennedy
Clipper does what it's supposed to and the grinder makes it easy to round off the cut
Pamela Gilbert
very happy with these 🙂
Savannah Turner
The dog never got up from his nap. I was more excited about that than the clippers 😂
Sheila King
I can slip the cutting end around a nail without my hand covering the light. That was the part I liked right away.
William Nelson
I prefer it with my thumb up by the blade, can still see the claw.
Sabrina Morales
Came a day later than expected. Still glad I ordered it. The cutter is great on my older chihuahua
Kate Shelton
I only do the tips. This is easy to hold close to the blade without my thumb being in the way
Alyssa White
Maybe my hands are just small. I have a hard time holding it still when I try to see how far the claw goes in.
Rafael Baker
Simple to use, thankfully. The last thing I want is homework before nail day.
Julia Delgado
The mailer was soaked from the rain and the actual box inside was dry. We were able to try it right away on our poodle
Jose Thompson
My favorite part is the clipper. The file's there if I mess up an angle and leave a point.
Brenda Baker
So far so good
Jonathan Williams
After a few tries I'm getting a better grip on it. Still takes two hands to turn the thing around.
Kelsey Rivera
My brother bought the same one after he used mine. His dogs get their nails done at home now too.
Maya Morales
The little screen said it was about half charged when I got it. That was plenty for a test on both front feet
Lucy Perry
The grinder doesn't seem to bother him if I start it before I take his paw.
Mia Olson
Works on the rough spots between trips to the groomer
Juan George
Works well for the nails he won't let the groomer get
Jennifer King
Got the box as a gift and ended up getting one for myself. My cat was less thrilled about that than I was.
Alex Roberts
Easy trim, glad I ordered
Jasmine Woods
Good for getting the few nails he doesn't seem to wear down himself.
Curtis Carroll
Shipping was uneventful. It showed up and it worked. That's what I wanted
Grant Carpenter
The box had a hole in the side and the tool was loose inside. It does work, but I didn't like getting it like that.
Melanie Harris
Took the edge off a nail on my old tabby without waking the dog in the room. I'll take it.
Marcus Lewis
It does a clean cut on my cat. The handle feels big against her little paws though
Mia Harper
I can do the two paws sticking out from under the blanket while my dog snoozes.
Nolan Carr
box wasnt pretty but nothing inside was damaged
Jean Stewart
We do nails on the porch where there's usually a breeze. It's nice to have a cordless grinder and enough light to see in the shade.
Jamie Austin
I didn't need to get a second hand on the handle to get through the big nail. That was the biggest difference for me
Rafael Davis
The box looked rough but the light and blade were both fine. My cat had opinions about the buzzing end
Javier Yang
I thought the button placement would bother me. Turned out to be easy to find when I needed it
Mason Howard
The grinder is just enough for the edges. For my cat that's all I use it for
Shawn Wilson
Feels good in the hand and doesn't wobble when I line it up.
Diego Gardner
Got the tool on Thursday. First trim was Saturday morning and went surprisingly well. We took breaks mostly because the pup wanted to investigate the grinder every time I set it down.
Olivia Lambert
great littel clippers!
Ryan Wu
it was at our door in 3 days and well packed
Gary Jordan
Got one clean snip on a nail I usually have to try twice.
Hannah Mitchell
No issues w/ the charge. I've used it on two dogs so far.
Caroline James
Goes through the nail without that loud pop my last clipper made
Robin Griffin
They left the package next to the flower pot where I asked. Nothing had shifted inside. It's the right size for my pom's paws.
Jacob Andrews
Our cat bit the box. The tool was a hit with the human only
Eddie Gonzales
Shipped faster than the dog shampoo did.
Eva Martin
Battery readout gets my vote.
Mark Ortiz
Four short steps. Go slow, and count one nail as a win.
For a few days, touch the paws at a calm moment and give a treat.
Good light, a treat within reach, styptic powder on the table.
Snip the tip of one nail, flip the tool and smooth the edge.
End on a treat and finish the other nails tomorrow.
It happens, even to careful owners. Stay calm, since your pet reads your reaction.
Press styptic powder onto the nail with firm pressure for about 30 seconds. Cornstarch or flour works in a pinch, though not as well. If the bleeding won't stop, call your vet.
Most tools clip or grind. This one does both, so you buy once and keep one thing in the drawer.

No guard can promise that. It limits how far the nail goes in. Small snips from the tip are what keep you clear of the quick.
Stay calm. Press styptic powder on with firm pressure for about 30 seconds. Cornstarch or flour works in a pinch, though not as well. If the bleeding won't stop, call your vet.
Yes. It charges by USB, the cable is in the box, and the screen shows the battery left.
Yes. Take only the very tip on small nails. The tool is [OVERALL LENGTH] long.
Owners of dogs with very thick nails that won't fit the cutting head. If nails are badly overgrown, cracked or curling into the pad, see your vet first.
You can't see the quick in a dark nail, even with the LED, so take tiny snips from the tip and stop early. Trimming a little more often beats taking a lot at once.
You can, though a second pair of hands helps with a squirmy pet. Some solo owners hold a cat between their knees. Start with one nail at a sitting.
Many dogs need a trim every few weeks, and indoor pets that don't wear their nails down may need it sooner. If you hear clicking on a hard floor, it's time. Your vet can set a schedule for your pet.
